Water Damage

11/30/2021 (Permalink)

Water damage in your home could be caused from many different sources and depending on that sources is how we classify what type of water damage there is. To explain further, there are three categories of water damage. Category 1 water damage is caused from clean water which could be a broken water supply line for example. Category 2 water damage is considered contaminated water. Some examples of category 2 water damage could be toilet overflow, not containing feces, a dishwasher overflow etc. Category 2 water could contain some bacteria in it that could potentially be harmful to breathe in. Category 1 water damage can turn into category 2 if not treated properly. The last category of water damage is category 3. Category 3 water damage is considered grossly contaminated water caused from rivers or streams, water from toilet bowl containing feces or standing water that has begun to support some growth. Whatever the category of water is, just know that SERVPRO’s trained professionals are ready to help with whatever the problem is!
